About Us

Who we are:

AMEEN (The American Muslim Engagement and Empowerment Network) is a political non-profit organization dedicated to empowering, advocating, and supporting the Michigan Muslim community by promoting civic engagement, education and community political development in alignment with Islamic values. We are guided by our commitment to faith-based principles and the practice of Mashura (consultation) with religious leaders and community members, ensuring our actions reflect the needs of those we serve for the sake of Allah. We envision a Michigan where Muslim Americans are fully engaged in the political process, their voices are heard, and their rights protected, and celebrated. We believe our strength comes from our connection to the Almighty first and foremost, followed by our authenticity

for practicing Muslims in Michigan. It aims to promote their interests and rights in accordance with Islamic principles, and to foster community engagement and empowerment.  We aim to:

  • Educate Muslims on the electoral process.
  • Empower Muslim voters to engage with candidates and enable them advocate for issues important to them.
  • Educate Michigan Muslims about the law and their rights, as well as their policymakers and policies.
  • Strengthen other Muslim non-profit organizations and work as a coalition partner based on needs.
